MEMOIR COURSE (LAKESIDE)
February 17 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pmR3000
Writing about your life allows you to revisit the story you are telling yourself about where you come from, what happened and what is possible. That story is always too small and is often unhelpful. Creative life writing helps you to reimagine life in ways that allow you to stay curious, connected and present. The page is a safe place to explore your thought habits, process your losses and surprise yourself with new possibilities for the future.
The tools we need to write effectively are also tools that help us live more creatively and less anxiously. Whether you are writing fiction or plays or poetry, life writing skills can help you deepen your observation of our human preferences, habits and tendencies, and how they impact on ourselves, other people and the natural environment.
During the course we will find refreshing approaches to assist us in putting our personal stories down on the page.
Writers at all levels are welcome, from beginners to practised writers.
